If you have heard any of the projects that Ty's been on recently (Platypus, Jughead, The Jelly Jam), then you're going to know exactly what to expect here. Something's Coming, Ty's 6th solo album, has more of an underlying concept than the others. Ty says that "...a lot of the songs are pointing to things that 'should' be warnings, things that we 'should' be angry with and want to change; whether it is politicians or the environment...." Musically, this album is right in line with what you would expect from a Ty solo album; he's got a very specific style and once you've heard it, you know it's him. Recorded at Ty's home studio in Katy, Texas, drummer Randy St. John joins Ty on the album...along with some special guests (Ron 'Bumblefoot' Thal, Jimi Hazel, Frank Falbo, Rick Skatore, etc). Something's Coming is out now and if you're into King's X or Ty's musical style, you simply can't go wrong here. |
